City Council meets on Tuesday | News, Sports, Jobs

CEYLON – On Sunday, July 10, St. Paul de Wilbert Lutheran Church will hold its constituents’ meeting after communion services, at approximately 10:30 a.m. All constituents and members of the congregation are welcome to attend. The congregation is reminded that there will be no communion on July 17 and that the time of the July 24 service will be changed to 10:30 a.m. to accommodate a guest pastor on those Sundays. Please mark your calendar.

Circle of Faith parishes can have drive-in communion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran in Welcome or Waverly Lutheran churches. This will also be available on July 17. Faith Circle parishes are also reminded that Trinity Parish in Welcome will have services on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in July.

Tuesday coffee hours continue from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Sherburn Regional Worship Center, just south of I-90. They will NOT have coffee hours on July 19 due to other church commitments.

The Ceylon City Council will meet on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at the Ceylon City Hall. All members are invited to attend. There is always a time for comments and questions from the public at the start of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the clerk at (507) 632-4653 prior to the meeting date.

The Ceylon Legion will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Legends ll. They will have their second meeting with the District Representative and the host Legion to discuss merging the two Legion positions. All members

are encouraged to attend.

Condolences to the families of Dolores Prust and Deb Leiding, former residents of Ceylon. There will be a celebration of life at the Sherburn Liquor Store for friends and family of Deb Leiding from 1 to 5 p.m. on July 16 to share memories.

There will be a Ruby’s Pantry food distribution from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 18 at the Sherburn Regional Worship Center, just south of I-90. The cost will be $25.

The road past our house on Route 263 has been considerably quieter this week since the road closure signs were posted. I still haven’t seen any big machines. I imagine that will change, hopefully soon. For more information, visit the project website at
