Darius Campbell Danesh’s cause of death ruled an accident

Darius Campbell Danesh died last month at the age of 41 from “chloroethane inhalation”, it has been announced.

The Scottish musician rose to prominence in the 2000s on a reality TV show pop idol while taking on Gareth Gates and Will Young. He was found dead in his Minnesota apartment on August 11, and news of his death was announced on August 16.

Now, just under a month after his death, the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office says the musician died from “chloroethane inhalation” and autopsy documents obtained by the Press Agency Pennsylvania claim that the “toxic effects of chloroethane” as well as “suffocation” contributed to the death of the musician.

His death was ruled an accident by the medical examiner assigned to the case and a previous statement from his family explained that: “The local police department confirmed that there were no signs of intent or circumstances suspicious.”

The musician’s passing last month sparked an outpouring of grief on social media, with his close friend Gerard Butler posting a long tribute on Instagram, which spoke of the Scottish singer’s “infectious laughter” and “barely contained joie de vivre”.

Will Young, who knew Darius from their time together pop idol, paid tribute by sharing a photo of them together on his Twitter. In the accompanying caption, he wrote that; “For the past few days my thoughts are with Darius’ family and will continue to be.”

Another one pop idol Gareth Gates has opened up about the passing of Darius, who took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Darius and write a heartfelt caption. Gareth wrote that Darius was “like a big brother” and shared he was “heartbroken” over the news.
