PIQUA – Moeller Brew Barn announces plans to build a new production facility in Piqua.

The facility will be capable of producing 25,000 barrels per year. Officials said it was possible to add capacity in the future.

According to a statement, the place will offer tours and a tasting room.
Anthony Scott, co-owner of Moeller Brew Barn, said the facility is a “long-term plan” for the company.
“Our distribution sales throughout Ohio have grown rapidly. We have had great success with our contracted distributors – Bonbright Distributors, Bobby Fisher Distributing and NWO Beverage Inc. – so that we can support this next step. The ongoing partnership with the City of Piqua and iPiqua made this decision easy, ”Scott said.
Piqua Town Community and Economic Development Director Chris Schmiesing said construction of the facility “represents a significant investment in the community.”

Schmiesing noted that the building will create new employment opportunities for the community. A statement said 20 to 25 people should be employed full-time at the facility by the end of its first year.
Nick Moeller, co-owner of Moeller Brew Barn, said the building’s design would showcase the brewery, but also have “a lot more to offer.”
A planned opening date has not yet been released.
