Nor-Arc Steel obtains manufacturing certificates for pressure vessels and boilers

Since 1975, Nor-Arc Steel Fabricators has been a leading manufacturing and fabrication company in Northern Ontario specializing in project management, aesthetics and manufacturing industrial equipment to our customers’ specifications.

Nor-Arc Steel Fabricators have received certifications under the Ontario Technical Standards and Safety Act (TSSA) for the manufacture and assembly of pressure vessels and electric boilers at their plant in Earlton, Ontario. All production must take place in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, as well as regulatory safety procedures.

With their company’s goal of becoming the leading supplier of material storage and custom fabrication services in North America, this now allows Nor-Arc to perform more tasks such as boiler repair / adjustment, pressure vessels, supply piping, process piping, as well as type A, B, E and H fittings.

Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, customers have restricted Nor-Arc to working at sites and travel restrictions have been put in place by public health agencies. Strategies were put in place to deal with these issues, and following a new investment in training and education, employees received training for certification for welding around pressure vessels. The certifications will also allow the design, manufacture and installation of supply piping, process piping and refrigeration piping. The licenses will also bolster Nor-Arc’s plan to promote the use of biomass energy.

Before acquiring the certificates, Nor-Arc provided services to the mining, forestry, energy and manufacturing sectors across North America. The company specializes in the development of projects that combine the process of steel raw materials with mechanical and hydraulic works.

Unlike other specialized individual companies, Nor-Arc is able to offer all of their services under one roof. The main products of the company are wood handling equipment used in the transport of raw materials to process waste, dry storage facilities and steel conduits such as penstocks for hydraulic dams. Serving the needs of customers in Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Provinces, Western Canada and the United States, the organization is committed to providing superior value and service to its customers, all by maintaining profitability for its shareholders.

Nor-Arc is able to provide clients with planning, sourcing, fabrication, finishing and installation. With an already well-trained team that allows them to repair and perform regular maintenance plant shutdowns, obtaining these certificates offers new opportunities for Nor-Arc employees to acquire new skills in a demanding environment. safe work.
