Rams, Albertsons / Vons / Pavilions and Pepsi partner with Food Share Ventura County to host Thanksgiving drive-thru food distribution

In partnership with Food Share Ventura County, the Rams, Albertsons / Vons / Pavilions (AVP) and Pepsi organized a Thanksgiving drive-through food distribution for families in need.

“Food Share is very proud to partner with the Los Angeles Rams, Albertsons, Vons, Pavilions and PepsiCo to distribute 3,000 turkeys here at College Park in Oxnard,” said Jennifer Caldwell, Business Development Manager for Food Share Ventura County. “We are so grateful for supporting the Ventura County community and being able to cook a nice hot Thanksgiving meal for the thousands of residents of Ventura County.”

Rams defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day, Rams cheerleaders and mascot Rampage joined with volunteers to distribute meal kits including a 12 to 15 pound turkey, shelf life companion items and some products.

“As you can imagine, COVID has affected our community more than ever and everyone deserves a hot meal on the table, but even more on Thanksgiving,” Caldwell said. “So being able to do this distro really means something more and really makes the word ‘Thanksgiving’ stand out.”

The drive-through event was the third of four food distributions that the Rams, AVP and Pepsi have held this season to address food insecurity in underprivileged communities in Southern California. The series of initiatives benefits three Fooding America® Network food banks in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties.

“It’s always important to do it, but doing it while on vacation makes it even more meaningful,” said Joseph-Day. “No one should go hungry in general, especially on days of love, joy, joy, family and friends…

The Rams will host the final food distribution with AVP and Pepsi on Tuesday, December 7 at SoFi Stadium in partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and donate $ 15,000 to Food Share Ventura County’s CAN-tree Drive for the second consecutive year. .

Residents of Southern California can support the Rams initiative by using qualifying For U® offers on Pepsi-Cola products at their local Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions stores from October 13 through December 28. For each redemption of qualifying For U® offers, Pepsi donates the cash equivalent of 10 meals to Feeding America® up to a maximum of 100,000 meals.
