A woman and her dog were able to quickly escape from their mobile home in Benton City, after it caught fire on Saturday. The house was considered a total loss due to the fire.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and first responders were called to Benton City near State Route 225 at 12:54 p.m.
MPs say the woman was changing her propane tank for heat. An open flame nearby caused the camper van to fire.
The firefighters were able to contain the fire to the mobile home. The 1978 vehicle was declared a total loss.
The fire caused no injuries.
